What Hopcheck reveals
Every hop individually
301, 302, 307 and 308 redirects are not interchangeable. A permanent redirect is a different fact from a temporary one. Hopcheck shows each status code and the URL it led to.
Query-string changes
A link can arrive at the right page having quietly dropped its ?ref= parameter. Hopcheck compares the query string at every hop and names the parameters that were lost or added.
Plaintext hops
Even if a chain ends on HTTPS, one plain HTTP hop carries the whole URL in the clear. Hopcheck flags every hop that crossed the network unprotected.
Loops and dead ends
A redirect loop is a page nobody can reach. Hopcheck detects an exact URL that appeared earlier in the chain and reports where the loop started.
